Firmware for 2860n-plus was created by ronniem
We have just bought three more 2860n-plus routers as we continue to phase out old Netgear and dLink kit at various sites.
The Draytek site has a choice of firmware versions (with the same version number !!) for this model range.
Could someone in authority provide clear guidence as to the appropriate version for a UK supplied box ?
Thanks.
PS. It seems that older firmware versions are not available to download ?
Normally I would try to have the existing firmware version available to revert to in the case of problems. How do we achieve this ?

Further Info :
Straight out of the box we seem to have variations in Firmware versions between brand new routers !! :
3.7.8.2
3.8.2_VT1
The Draytek site is currently offering :
3.8.2.2 (548006 / non vector)
3.8.2.2 (567517 / vector)
3.8.2.2 (574307 / vector2)
3.8.2.2 / Recommended (576D17 / vector3)
The word "recommended" might be a clue here, but I have to say this is really not a clear choice of versions.
Some of these routers will be on ADSL2 and some on Virgin VDSL.
HELP !!!

576D17 is what DrayTek recommend for use on VDSL. The firmware also works with ADSL as the firmware has both VDSL and ADSL capability and seems to be OK from what I've seen. I'd use that if trying on a new ADSL line but if upgrading a unit already installed I might pick the same modem ver as already on the unit if I'm upgrading remotely so that I know I'm not changing anything that might affect synch.

The above phrase seems to imply that the firmware is essentially the same between the four current offerings, but that the modem code therein is different as denoted by the bracketed text.
Is this correct ?
And can you explain the differences ?
Thanks.

I just upgraded my 2860ac from 3.8.2_VT2 to 3.8.2.2_VT3. The downlink synch speed on my 'super fast' VDSL line has dropped from about 5.3 Mb/s to 3.6 Mb/s. Not impressed!

Just to provide some feedback . . . . .
The following firmware version works fine (so far !!) in conjunction with Virgin VDSL and a direct connection to VDSL (leaving the BT Openreach modem redundent) :
3.8.2.2 / Recommended (576D17 / vector3)
Which the router lists as : 3.8.2.2_VT3
