BT Broadband username problem with 2860 was created by gce123
Hi, having a very weird problem trying to get a 2860 working with BT broadband ADSL (not Infinity).
The line works fine with the BT Homehub modem connected, using the username "bthomehub@btinternet.com "
When I connected a 2860 to it, using this same username (no password), it connected and worked first time. But then after a reboot of the 2860 (or just disconnecting and reconnecting the modem cable to temporarily drop the connection) it wouldn't ever connect again and just kept on cycling through its "READY" and "TRAINING" mode.
What I eventually found was that whenever I changed the username to a new one, e.g. "anything@btinternet.com " it worked fine again first time but as soon as I rebooted the 2860 it would never work again. Changed the username yet again to something new e.g."test@btinternet.com ", worked first time, but not ever again. And so it went on.
I tried also using passwords "bt" and "BT", but no change with the problem.
Am I going mad and doing something really stupid?
Graham

I know you have ADSL not VDSL but this sounds similar http://forum.draytek.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20706
Try turning off hardware acceleration.
