maximum usage time was created by rhd
Could anyone clarify for me how the maximum usage time feature works on draytek routers?
If a user has a maximum usage of say 2 hours, once they initially login, do they have 2 hours from that moment, or can they use the 2 hour allowance in lots of little bits?

Thanks babis3g,
Looks like I can't do what I want. I want to give users a time allowance that they can consume in lots of little bits over the day, should they wish.

This may help

Using the rule based user account with a time quota seemed to provide what you describe when I tried it (with the "reset to default" unticked). However it seemed as though once the time had expired you would need to re-create the account to enable it to be used again. Might give you some ideas though.

If you're using user accounts with a time quota set then once that user is logged out, the quota stops decreasing, it's only while they're logged in that it will use the quota so it should be able to do what you're looking to achieve in terms of time usage if the user goes idle and this logs them out. For instance if they disconnected from that wireless network then it would stop drawing from the quota.
The wireless LAN > Station Control feature I'm less sure about but that is probably also only while they're connected rather than connect once = all usage for that day gone if they try to reconnect an hour later
