Foxy 36, 2860n+ and Remote Management was created by cpcnw
Hi,
I wanted remote admin of a 2860n+ so I made the following changes;
System Maintenance > Management >
- Allow management from the internet
* HTTPS
- Management Port Setup
- User Defined
* HTTPS: 447
When I try and access this from my remote site Firefox 36 says;
Unable to Connect Securely
Firefox cannot guarantee the safety of your data on WAN.IP.ADDRESS because it uses SSLv3, a broken security protocol.
Advanced info: ssl_error_unsupported_version
Should I be worried? Is there a better way? I also tried setting up an Dial-In PPTP and using the LAN HTTP WebInterface
which I changed to port 8080 - I thought this might be more secure however I just get a 'wait / timeout'
Part two of this question is;
On the 'Access List from the Internet' - I have a fixed IP at my remote site, what subnet would I use to specify
just my one static IP? [255.255.255.255?]
Thanks in advance!

Update the Vigor to the latest firmware and let us know if it persists.

Great - fw ug sorted it!
Can anyone comment on second part of my post [showing a glaring lack in my basic networking voodoo!]
https://www.draytek.co.uk/archive/kb_vigor_password.html
The last section of the above is different in a 2860n+ as it explicitly states "Access List from the Internet"
I assume I dont have to include LAN details here?
Cheers!
