V2830n and AP-900 Guest Wireless Network was created by spicedmonkey
Hi
I've installed a Wi-Fi network using 4 x AP-900 which is working perfectly. All hard wired to a switch, then linked to the router
My client needed a guest network throughout the property and as his existing router did not support VLANs I purchased a Vigor2830n to replace it. Router configures perfectly, allows 2 SSIDs with guest network associated with VLAN1.
All works a charm - now I'm trying to extend the guest wireless network out to the 4 x AP-900s...without any success. Are there are guides out there to help with this setup? On the page titled How To Setup A Guest Wireless Network it states "linking a guest network to other access points (i.e. Vigor AP-900) is covered in a separate guide." I cannot'f find said guide!!
Any help much appreciated
Thanks
Dan

One way...run two Ethernet cables to each AP and use port based VLAN... but more elegantly, you will need to create two subnets and then twi tagged VLANs and then let the AP split the data back out to subnets according to the tags. Sounds complicated
