2830n to BT Openreach Fibre was created by georgebell
Can anyone please point me in the direction of some kind of "Dummies Guide" to allow connection of a Vigor 2830n to replace the ISP's supplied Netgear N300 Wireless Router WNR 2200?
I'm getting the usual story from BT and ISP, "It's not our router".
I hasten to add that the Vigor was working very well until we were moved to fibre.

enable yes, Physical Type autonavigation, active mode always on, ok
wan > internet access > wan 2 details page get pppoa/pppoe tab
top left small tick enable, WAN Connection Detection can use always on (mode), MTU 1492, ip address no dynamic, not sure if you need your online username & pass because i am not with BT, down ok
Try a reboot & both BT OR & 2830, should work

A username which works on all residential BT connections is "bthomehub@btinternet.com " with no password.
