Vigor 2860n+ Sky(BE)ADSL Upload Speed was created by joelang1699
Having a bit of bothere here guys and im looking for some input. Today i swapped out my old 2850Vn for a brand new 2860n+. All has went well expect the ADSL upload speed. The settings for SKY(BE) ADSL should be Modulation: Multimode or ADSL2+ Annex M which worked fine on the 2850 however using Multimode on the 2860 results half the upload speed i should be getting (around 230K). Setting the 2860 to ADSL2+ Annex M results in the 2860 not being able to establish a connection with the DSLAM. Ive tried all three modem codes i.e. Standard and AnnexA_560816_552011 and AnnexA_548006_544401. Has anyone else out there encountered this with the 2860 and BE/SKY ADSL?

I seem to remember Be had different VCI (101?) and LLC for Annex M, but it's a while since I had worked on a set-up like that.

Thanks for the info Nev
After some reading I had found out today that SKY don't support Annexe M hence the loss of upload speed HOWEVER im sure my 2850 DID sync at Annexe M speeds. Ill need to check tomorrow and ill update here.

i can see US Actual Rate : 953000 bps ... is not really that bad ... on speedtest that is about 0.80 mbps
if annex M is not supported by the isp then not all modems will lock with this mode, only some modems will lock with annex M but then again you may see an improvement of 0.5 mbps
Try set annex M manual, if lets you do that, you may win about 0.5 mbps ... wan>internet access>details page>modulation
I think the issue is adsl/dslam comparability
i have a 2760 (same chipset as the 2860) with a broadcom exchange (i am sure sky use broadcom too) and always getting anything 984 - 995 (984000 bps) out of the 1024 the other modems locking, very rear will lock with 999 or 1004
Is not big issue because at the speedtest only goes lower by 0.5 mbps compare to the other modems (upload)
What you can try is the telnet command (assuming the 2860 has not bugs in the telnet commands that i read in here with latest betas & so the commands are not working or have not affecting)
adsl txpct 100
adsl rxpct 100
adsl savecfg
I think drayteks are set to 80 or 90 % so even if you set at 100% you may not see huge improvement
The best option (& that what i am doing) is to give couple of reboots until the upload locks higher at physical connection > adsl status
A different adsl filter at the phone socket can make a difference
A long cable over 2 meters can slow down the upload ... so from the phone socket to the modem if is more than 1.8.- 2 meters try a shorter one
An other option (but not sure if will work) is to turn off upload bit swap
adsl optn bitswap US 2
2 it turns off bit swap for US upstream
all that tips may help for a better upload
