AP800 Firware upgrade was created by rottenfacia
Good Morning,
I have been trying to upgrade my AP800 to the latest firmware over the last couple of days without success.
It starts then fails. I have been trying connected via cable and it fails each time part way through
I suspect it's more than likely something I am doing wrong, just can't figure it out at the moment.
Any pointers, please?
Thanks

Try a different browser (I always tend to manage Draytek stuff using Internet Explorer)
Try from a different computer

How did you tried the update? system maintenance > firmware upgrade? (via the UI?)
what message is showing?
Is working the unit normal after the firmware fail?
Try first the suggestion the other member mentioned and if still same issue will explain how to do it

Hi, have tried various methods, all seem to fail part way though, looks like a time out.
A reboot of the device restores it back to it's previous state.
Wondered if I needed to step therough the F/W levels, same result.
I just appear to lose connectivity part way through.
Should I hard configure an IP address and put the computer in the same subnet, rather than leave as is normally configured, as a universal repeater picking up IP address via DHCP
Thanks

Perhaps it has something to do with dhcp you need to set the same ip/dhcp range (router pc)
-Use windows pc
-use ethernet cable from the 2830 to the pc & not via wifi
-turn off the ap800
-Disable temporary firewall at pc
-open the utility upgrade tool 3.6.5
- type at IP address 192.168.1.2 (make sure the pc is at the same ip example 192.168.1.xxx) or if the default ip address was changed at the ap800 use that spesific ip
192.168.1.10 is fine & you can change it via the NIC card at the pc
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19249/how-to-assign-a-static-ip-address-in-xp-vista-or-windows-7/
-load the firmware (latest is 1.1.4)
-password use admin or if is been changed try that password(if you master reset needs admin)
- leave there the upgrade tool open & stand by ...
While the ap800 is off ... press and hold gently the small reset button ... turn on (power on) the modem while the reset button is still under gently press ... and while the leds starts flashing ... let go the small reset button ... and press the send button at the upgrade tool before the leds at modem stops flashing fast
WAIT until you get the message router is active now
