I previously worked for a Draytek reseller, who supplied the 120's for connecting a second ADSL via WAN2 on the 2820/2830's, and I saw countless numbers of these fail.
Unfortunately, at the time we found there was no flexibility or extension on the one year warranty from Draytek, and in the end we simply had to pull them all and replace them with the (much cheaper) D-Link DSL-320B.
Good to know these issues have now been resolved with the more recently produced units.

There certainly has been so I can only imagine that the failed units at your old place must have been 'very early' before exceptions were introduced. As the problem took a long time to show up on any unit, and it doesn't happen on most it took a while for the higher than expected occurance to be realised.

I was told in no uncertain terms a year warranty wasn't unreasonable - it was a year and 2 weeks Old when it failed. I bought a billion modem instead.
Tbh that experience is what putting me off buying a 2860 + 2xAP900.
Maybe I was unlucky with who answered my call.

I'm surprised, as I think they all knew, so I'm sorry to hear it. How long ago was this ?

I bought the Billion on 14 March 2011, so I guess a few days before that.

Oh, that was a long time ago. The more common port problem affected some of the units sold in 2012;
it was then during 2013 that the 12 month warranties were allowed to extend.
