Hello,
Does anyone have details on how to reboot the router via a URL, i.e. including how to pass the auth detials

Sorry did understand what you looking for
To access the WUI page (via url - any browser) you need type the modem ip 192.168.1.1, then username/pass by default is admin/admin, then under the menu System Maintenance >> Reboot System can choose if you want to reboot via current settings or using factory default
If you are trying remotely (somewhere far) then instead of the 192.168.1.1 you need to have the public ip but only if at System Maintenance >> Management are enable few necessary settings
Note if modem ip or public ip or password has changed you need to know them, other ways is not possible

Send the "sys reboot" command via a telnet session. You can use any of a number of telnet clients to script the login and sending of command.

A fixed reboot URL without login credentials sounds quite risky to me.
