Draytek HTTPS filtering was created by jashfield730
Hello everyone
1. Are there draytek routers which provide comprehensive https filtering?
2. Is this functionality still being developed for this router(Draytek 2860n)?
After paying around £200 for the Draytek 2860n, I am rather disappointed in its ability to filter https(basically non-existent as YouTube keeps getting through even though I use the WCF service. I am therefore forced to use the DNS Server but this blocks access to all users- not ideal at all)
Thanks for any help given.

Why not just create a URL content filter?

I am grateful for this post... I had no idea that this was the case!
We use the commtouch WCF to block social media & other categories & I have just tested Facebook.
Nowhere does it state that it only blocks none SSL traffic but.....
http://www.facebook.com is blocked ok
https://www.facebook.com is allowed
This has to be incorrect! I have just purchased 5 x 1 year filter licences too!
Anyone else seeing this ? Anyone opened a ticket with Draytek?

The filtering from Commtouch is for HTTP only.
HTTPS filtering requires a URL Content Filter to work as HTTPS version sites aren't categorised.

Not really. There's a reason behind it.

You could try using the above and see if it works before setting the URL content filter.
Edit - Was meant to say you could try the DNS filtering method and see how you get on but pressed Submit before doing so.
