Make sure the MTU is 1492
You can try some other combination with password such leave it blank and just add the user email or set it as the home hub with blank or just your user online account login
Latest firmware is 3.6.4.1 and use the *rst* file which will clean everything

Used the guide to setup the 2850 but still cannot connect
The firmware in the 2850 is shown below

System Status

Model Name : Vigor2850n
Firmware Version : 3.6.2_232201
Build Date/Time : May 4 2012 11:27:45

Cannot make any changes to the WAN 2 settings
tried a factory reset but problem remains
Which file in the Draytek Firmware do i need to flash the 2850
There are so many in Annex A and B

You stated you wanted to replace the BT Home hub 3- that assumes you are still using the BT modem. You are trying to configure the 2850n as a router/modem which would replace both the BT supplied modem and the home hub. If you want to do this- plug the cable that goes from your BT faceplate in to the VDSL port of the 2850n. To continue using the BT modem you connect the ethernet output from your BT modem into the WAN2 port of the 2850n and enable the WAN2 connection in the setup.
