Cannot upgrade 2920n to 3.6.4 firmware. was created by spudster
I am struggling to update my router firmware to 3.6.4. I'm currently on 3.6.3. I have tried via the web interface, the router firmware upgrade tool and by FTPing into the router and copying the .all file to the root as per a few guides I've seen. None work at all. Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks for your help.

Via web interface points to note:
- make sure you are using ethernet cable and not trying via wifi
- Try change browser
- make sure you have disconnected additional cables such the incoming wan etc and just leave the one from the 2920 to pc which you trying to upgrade (the connection should not interrupted from the network)
- try at network connection at pc to obtain ip automatic or same range as the 2920 if you have change its range

Via upgrate tool make sure the ip range is the same example if 2920 is 192.168.1.1 should be at pc 192.168.1.10/20/30 etc
Close the firewall at pc ... sometimes it matters and getting time outs
Follow the correct order of updating

what is the error message are you getting when trying update via the UI?
Down left of the page usually showing how many % is loading the new firmware ... is just stoping counting? or just will not load atol the firmware?
Did you tried IE browser?
I would say to do a back up the 3.6.3 and do a master reset and try again??? but may be a risk if the bootloader has problem

Also you may need perform "Abnormal Firmware Conditions" check here

Hey up.

I know I've missed the boat a bit on this one as you've sorted it.
I found that browsers have a lot to do with the success of my 2920 updates. Especially on the move from 3.6.3 > 3.6.4.

I find that firefox is awful for general administration of the devices, for some reason pages take an age to load and often doesnt display all images.
I tend to use IE when administering it however I could not update the firmware using it. After a min or so I'd get a 'page cannot be displayed' error in the main pane. I was running IE10 at the time and even compatibility mode did not help.

Switching to the usually dodgy firefox allowed the update to complete.

Hope this helps someone else.
