2850 + 3.6.4 DNS problems was created by smwardle
Hi,

I've been running unbound http://www.unbound.net (validating, recursive, and caching DNS server) on my Mac since April with no problems.
The 2850 was running 3.6.3 firmware and I'm using both the ADSL and ethernet WAN interfaces with two ISPs.
After I updated to 3.6.4_2471201 last week unbound failed to resolve hosts.
Using wireshark to monitor the LAN I saw DNS requests out to the root name servers but no replies. DNS requests to my ISP's name servers did get replies.
Firewall and DOS protection off made no difference.
Reverted to 3.6.3_2471201 today and it all works again.

I've switched beween the two firmwares again now to prove 3.6.4_2471201 is broken.

Cheers,
Steve

After upgrading to 3.6.4 the cable line on the WAN port failed to work - it did not find the gateway and IP addresses. I did not associate the problem with the upgrade.

I was going to take it up with the cable ISP but did not yet get round to it.

Lucky I saw this thread else I would be wasting ages with the ISP trying to fix it!

Now that I have downgraded to 3.6.3 it is working again.
