i ve seen the video thanks
I notice: you don't have the latest firmware as you told me ... In the video is appearing 1.0.4 ... that is a 2 firmwares behind

i would say
Update to latest firmware 1.1.0 ... not sure if will help for the issue but is worth it to update as only take few minutes
Here where to get it
http://www.forum.draytek.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=19&p=76606#p76606

Master reset if any current bug prevent scanning or mismatching ... update ... and master reset again

When you done it ... based at the video ... the first time it did scanned ...so i would say go ahead and set it up straight away without further experiments

No, the FIRST time it scanned, it was in AP mode (factory default) NOT Repeater mode, in which it will NOT scan.
Also, according to Draytek UK (http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/download/vap800_1031zip) 1.0.3 is the latest firmware but mine are 1.0.4 so are already more upto date.

Hi again ...The more up to date is 1.1.0 and i looked at the released notes and there is few fixes for universal mode, hopping it will help the scan
Personal i did the upgrade (since the 1.1.o was out) with the way i mentioned
I will connect mine later to see if has same issue at universal mode with the 1.1.0 i have
I also have find a video from a user and works (for him) but not sure with which version but maybe if you try set it up with the same order it may works
