I have WAN1 on a BT Business line and WAN2 on a TalkTalk domestic line operating via a 2850 router.

Problem: I have a TalkTalk YouView box which auto updates every night but invariably uses WAN1 (the BT line) despite my actions below to try force it to use WAN2. The net result is that it updates my box with BT Vision settings that will not work - ie I lose the TalkTalk options and instead have BT ones. The only fix I can find is to manually unplug WAN1 and force an update from the box and then all goes back to TalkTalk.

I have tried setting under WAN>Load-Balance Policy: enable/ Protocol: Any / WAN2 / Src IP Start: 192.168.0.24 / Srp IP End: 192.168.0.24 where 192.168.0.24 is the IP address of the TalkTalk box BUT this does not seem to make any difference!

Any ideas or just keep using the 'unplug' method!

Cheers W.

that should be all you need to do, can you create a syslog and under call see if the rule is taking effect. It should say something like {FIX} 192.168.0.24 > Destination IP - Go WAN2

Hi Sicon, Many thanks for the replay. Not sure how to do syslog but I have checked the NAT Sessions Table and get the following:

192.168.0.24 51771 53307 23.63.101.40 80 WAN1
192.168.0.24 3265 37569 8.8.8.8 53 WAN2
192.168.0.24 19879 54183 8.8.8.8 53 WAN2
192.168.0.24 19969 54273 8.8.8.8 53 WAN2
192.168.0.24 4078 38382 8.8.8.8 53 WAN2
192.168.0.24 54499 56035 23.63.101.51 80 WAN2
192.168.0.24 56093 57629 8.8.8.8 53 WAN2
192.168.0.24 56160 57696 8.8.8.8 53 WAN2
192.168.0.24 40173 41709 8.8.8.8 53 WAN2
192.168.0.24 40212 41748 80.239.178.216 80 WAN1
192.168.0.24 57824 59360 80.239.205.160 80 WAN1
192.168.0.24 58886 60422 80.239.148.179 80 WAN1
192.168.0.24 42929 44465 62.24.132.162 80 WAN2
192.168.0.24 43126 44662 8.8.8.8 53 WAN2
192.168.0.24 43181 44717 8.8.8.8 53 WAN2
192.168.0.24 43675 45211 8.8.8.8 53 WAN2
192.168.0.24 46602 48138 213.248.112.138 80 WAN1
192.168.0.24 46908 48444 62.24.132.162 8008 WAN2
192.168.0.24 30677 64981 8.8.8.8 53 WAN2
192.168.0.24 47223 48759 23.63.101.8 80 WAN1
192.168.0.24 47224 48760 23.63.101.8 80 WAN1

As you can see it is not exclusively using WAN 2 despite the rule I have set for IP 192.168.0.24 and have just checked again this morning and it updated via WAN1 so Im back to BT Vision!!

Any ideas?

Cheers W.

I have a 2850 but its now dual wan so I can test but I will jump on it and see if there is anything I can see.

try using a firewall filter rule to do the load balance instead? I don't know if they work off of the same system or different but they achieve the same thing, maybe it works better?
