2850 BT Infinity2 Setup Please? was created by otto-mate
Hi

Have just got BT Infinity 2 installed. Can someone give me the settings / setup I need to use the 2850 in place of the HH / OpenReach please?

Thanks

You can change the MTU to 1492 if you want and don't forget to click the ok down of each page

Many thanks babis3g, now connected.

Seeing a significant reduction in bandwidth compared to the HH/OR setup as other have already reported here. Up speed almost halved. Down not as bad - maybe 25% drop, sync has dropped from full 80 to 72,687Kbps. We need our VPN and other features of the DryTek but seems a lot of speed to lose.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I've been working with UK support on this and I've made a bit of progress. I now have downstream with the same throughput as the BT modem and upstream with a good improvement.....but still not quite as quick at the open reach modem.

Here's what they asked me to change:

Telnet into the router and run the following commands:

adsl txpct 100
adsl rxpct 100
adsl reboot

This should free up the routers own bandwidth reservations (command is
relevant to ADSL but should also help with VDSL).

Via the web GUI, disable QOS. By default, its set to reserve 25% of bandwidth. It should say Disabled in the Status column next to whatever WAN ports you're using.

I suggest open a ticket with tech support

Maybe more complain ... more look into it

IF you willing to keep the 2850n due its features can stick the BT modem to wan 2 but no info from the modem
Other choice is to change for a 2750n

Thanks babis3g. Tried those but no difference. I'll open a ticket.

I tried the

adsl txpct 100
adsl rxpct 100
adsl reboot

But the adsl reboot was ineffective. I rebooted the rooter, and it could not sync anymore. default to a 8b profile instead of 17a. I reverted to adsl txpct 80 and adsl rxpct 80. rebooted the router and back on a 17a profile...

So no luck for me...
