Vigor2830 DDNS Wan2 was created by scoobler
Hello,

I have a Vigor2830 setup and workingish at our main site:
[*]WAN1 is an ADSL connection (Static IP)
[*]WAN2 is an ethernet connection to another ADSL modem (Static IP)
[*]WAN2 is setup as a backup connection set to connect when ANY WAN fails
[*]WAN1's backup connection is WAN2.
This setup work's currently to allow users on the network access to the internet when WAN1 fails - all fine so far....

However I run a VPN connection to head office (another Vigor2830) - this is setup as an outgoing connection as H.O. only has one WAN with a static IP so it's easy to connect to.

The trouble I am having is setting up a domain name that points to the main site as this is where tele workers VPN into. It is also where our back office server resides so users need access via a domain name.

I have tried setting up a DDNS account - the trouble is when connected via WAN1 it will update with the correct IP provided by the ISP, the trouble is, when WAN1 fails and the router fails over to WAN2 the IP address passed to the DDNS server it is the internal IP of the second ADSL modem (e.g. 192.168.8.202). How do I correct this?

Thanks in advance!
