2830 - WAN1 & WAN2 - switch on fail was created by gaz90
Hello,
The 2830 is setup with a WAN1 ADSL and a WAN2 ethernet via another router / ADSL.
This is due to a flaky 3rd party ADSL on WAN2 which is the primary connection.
When WAN2 is physically unplugged the router switches onto WAN1 with backup option no probs, but WAN2 router ADSL failed last night for the first time and it appears the router did not switch to WAN1.
Would I be right in thinking it can see handshaking between the 2 routers on WAN2 so does not register the line via ADSL is down on WAN2?
Thanks for any info.
Gareth.

Yes
But there is hope.
Have a dig in the WAN -> Internet Access settings. I don't have a 2830 but the functions are probably similar.
You're looking for something like "WAN Connection Detection", set that to Ping Detect and give it a internet IP to ping (I use google.com).
Then when the 2830 can't ping the internet it will know the connection is down and fail over.
