2820 FTP access via the web was created by slackness
Hi, new to DrayTek.
System Status
Model Name : Vigor2820n
Firmware Version : 3.3.7_232201
Build Date/Time : Oct 27 2011 11:20:43
ADSL Firmware Version : 232201_A Hardware: Annex A
I have a 4gb pendrive setup direct into router with ftp access on internal lan and it works fine.
Can someone *pretty please* just explain the basic steps to getting this accessible from the internet.
I have config'd user accounts and changed the FTP port and setup dynamic dns that resolves externally.
Being new to this I would appreciate greatly any assistance with a / do this / then that.
Thanks
Slackness.

Hello,
I am using firmware "3.3.5.2_232201" and this gives the option of ftp via lan or lan & wan.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply, I seem to have figured it.
You can't get net client access to the FTP host unless you enable remote management for FTP even though you enable the server in another section on the same page.
Very strange!
The Lan / Wan aspect you mention above seems to relate to Samba access as it doesn't appear to make difference to remote FTP working or not.
Its now working at last!
Thanks again!

Well, if what it stated in the fsck'n manual worked I wouldn't have asked the question, If you want to be a pedant or look smart at least have the decency to ask if the person has read the manual first rather than assume.
