firewall/port forwarding was created by ola
Hi, I am new to Draytek product (2830n). I would like to setup port forwarding to port 21 to a particular ip address (nas device) on my internal network. I have also tried to setup a rule to open port 21 so that my nas system could be access from external user on port 21 (ftp). But the port remains close. I have included screen dump of my setup (see attachments). Any assistance given would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the data rules in your firewall?

First, you may need to release port 21 from the Drayteks own use.

System Maintenance >> Management >> Management Port Setup

you may notice that User Define Ports or Default Ports are in operation

Telnet Port (Default: 23)
HTTP Port (Default: 80)
HTTPS Port (Default: 443)
FTP Port (Default: 21)
SSH Port (Default: 22)

For example, change the FTP port to 50021 then OK and reboot.

Hopefully you'll now find that your port forwarding fules function as expected.

Tip! open both port 20 and 21 for FTP

Best regards, Neal

Thank you all for all your suggestions. I would let you know the outcome.

Tried the above suggestion, but still face with the same issue ( cannot correctly configure router for firewall or port) any basic configuration for the above setting would be helpful.

Thanks in advance

I too am having problems using the port forwarding on the Draytek. I am trying to setup a rule for port 389 to forward to a perticular IP and regardless of what I do it remains closed. If I enable NAT then that works fine - but I dont want to enable the port for everyone just specific IP address's.

Any ideas?

Thanks
