How to change administrator User Name was created by fdservices
On a Vigor 2930, how can I set the administrator's User Name?

Thanks

Because it is blank by default, so half the security is missing

Hmmm; I thought it would be 'admin' by default; are you on old firmware.

Anyway, as has been discussed before, half the security isn't missing. If you think that a username
makes it more secure, then just add it to the password.

e.g. if you want

username : john
password : 1234567

Then set the password to john1234567 and it's just as secure/strong.

No, brand new unit, just installed.

OK if you cannot set it, you cannot set it, and that is that. I think that it is a bot weird though.

Sounds like you have made a similar mistake to me

to get into proper admin mode on the router, you need to enter admin/admin

If you enter blank/admin, this takes you to a user page

Once you are in as admin/admin, you can switch off the normal user account, and change the admin password
