Hi Folks,

I am trying to use an Orange E173 wireless adapter with a Vigor 2830n router but am having some issues. I am unable to get the dongle to connect to 3G when using it with the router, I can only get it to connect to 2G. However, the dongle is working correctly because I can get it to connect to 3G when I use my laptop.
I can confirm that the dongle USB light is on, and that the light is green (which indicates that it is connected to 2G). I have also confirmed that the USB dongle does not need a PIN to be entered.

Troubleshooting I have already tried:
• I have checked and the Vigor router has the latest firmware version (3.3.6.1db)
• I have tried both the APN that DrayTek suggests (internetvpn) and the APN that Orange provide (consumerbroadband) but the problem still exists
• I have rebooted the Vigor router several times with the USB dongle connected
• I have unplugged and replugged the dongle while the router is still powered on
• The router has been factory reset and reconfigured

Unfortunately none of this has helped to resolve the issue. Please could someone advise me about other troubleshooting steps that I can take, or possible solutions to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Also here are the download speeds using the dongle:

Laptop+Dongle = 60KB/Sec average after settling
Router+Dongle = 4KB/Sec average after settling

Ping results:

Could this be simply because of the positioning of the router/3g dongle? Are you testing this with the router in the exact position of the laptop? On my 2920 the dongle's speed is exactly the same....
