Unable to access the GUI using Internet Explorer 9

When trying to access the GUI using Internet Explorer 9 with Windows 7, I can login but thereafter most of the configuration items fail to be displayed. IE9 returns 'Internet Explorer cannot display the WEB page'.
I have 100% success entering the configuration pages using Google's Chrome browser.
I have also tried IE9 with no 'add-ons' and have the same failure.
My Microsoft updates are all current.
I have uninstalled Java, cleaned out the left overs from the registry, rebooted and reinstalled Java. Still the problem exist.
Do you have any suggestions please?

I have finally identified the cause (but not a cure) of this issue with my particular Internet Explorer 9/Windows 7.
For some reason there is a conflict between this installation of IE9 and Windows 7 Firewall.
Turning off the Firewall completely removes the issue with being unable to open the Configuration options in the GUI.
Interestingly Chrome works 100% without turning off the Firewall.

My GUI problem may be of interest to others.
