2820 Mail Alert Gmail setup was created by joelang1699
Im having trouble trying to get my 2820 mail alert setup with Gmail. It seems that putting smtp.gmail.com and the correct port in isn't enough, the device actually requires the Gmail IP address. Has anybody managed to get this working?

Open a command window within windows (click start then type in cmd in the search or run window and click OK), now enter the command
Ping smtp.gmail.com
and press enter and you will get an ip address of one of the many Gmail servers.
