Hi
New forum member - question on firmware upgrades.
Just got 2820Vn up and running fine on ADSL2+ with 14Meg down and nearly 1Meg up so pretty happy. Checking to see if I needed to upgrade firmware to keep everything current, but some worrying posts about stability on 3.3.5.2 (232201) so will stick with current 3.3.5 (232201 Annex A).
My guess is I should stick where I am for now until stability issues are sorted with 3.3.5.2
ALSO - I noticed that Draytek recommend modem code 2471201 for adsl2+ annex M - well I am ADSL2+, but not sure how to tell if I am Annex M. So I guess when stability issues are sorted I may have to use this other modem code.....will this make any difference?

Annex M is generally for >20Mbit connections, iirc.

You could always try swapping to Annex M and seeing if your router will connect to the internet successfully.

Hello, you should be able to tell in the status fairly easily. For example:

Mode shows Annex M.

Many Thanks guys - will try other firmware in due course to see if it helps and post results
My ADSL Status says:
ADSL2+ (G.992.5)
There is no ref to Annex A or M unfortunately.

If there is no specific reference to Annex M then it will be will be Annex A. To the best of my knowledge, the main Annex M provider is O2/BeThere (on the top 'pro' packages) and their variants.

Thanks again - this clears it up.
I think I must be Annex A and will leave the firmware upg for now, at least until 3.3.5.2 is more stable (based on forum posts it is not at present).
Cheers
