Vigor 3300 WAN setup was created by thirst4knowledge
Hi Peeps,

My company have purchased a Vigor 3300 hardware version 1.0 firmware version 26.0.0

I am struggling on the setup of the wan options.

we have 2 ADSL connections from our ISP which were are plugging into 2 separate Vigor 120 ADSL2/2+ modems, these modems are plugged into WAN ports 1 & 2 respectivly.

My ISP have provided us with a range of Public IP addresses we can use

Now when I log into the wan set-up page I'm not sure which option to

choose from:

1)Static
> (My first instinct is this)

2)PPPoE
> (The use of the vigor 120 Adsl modems make me think I may have to use this)

3)DHCP
>( Not this)
4)PPTP
>(Not This)
5)DMZ
>(Not this)

Thanks
T4k

Im begging to think that it should be PPPoE.

But the question is do I need to change the MAC address on the 3300 setings to that of the vigor 120 adsl modems ?

If your ADSL connections have usernames/passwords then yeah it would be PPPoE, you don't need to change the MAC address or anything, just enter the username/pass details, it shows on here how you'd do it:

Thats the original article I used to set-up.

but the wan connections do not come up under the "Status" menu

I presume that I will need to use the "IP alias" option for multiple WAN IP's.....

only problem is the "IP ALias" options do not show up once you choose the PPoE option...

AHA, I just checked the latest firmware and read the release notes it says one of the "improvments" in the new firmware is :

Add IP Alias function in PPPoE mode.

My firmware is 2.6.0.0

the latest release is 2.6.1.0

I guess that moves me forward some what :P

will report back soon
