Unable to log into Vigor2800 via Web GUI

Hi All,

I've taken on a new customer that is using a Vigor2800. I'm unable to log into the device via the web gui as I get the page cannot be displayed error. I've tried http and https. I'm guessing the old admin has set a random port for access to the unit. I have the password by the way.

I know I can factory reset the unit and reconfigure it but I'd rather just get in the proper way. Anyone any ideas on how I can get into this?

If they haven't changed the telnet port, you can access it using telnet i.e. start > run > telnet 192.168.1.1 and click OK, it should ask for the password almost straight away then you can try logging in, if you can then enter:
mngt httpport ?
to find out the management port for HTTP.

Hi Voodle,

Tried that and the telnet port doesn't seem to be open. Either that or that has changed also.

Any other ideas or is it factory default time?

Usually if you can't get in through the telnet interface and there are no port details noted down anywhere, it is factory reset time :(
