2820n and Netbios names

Hi all I cant seem to RDP to machines via netbios names inside my LAN any one got any idea why?

Is anyone able to advise this is getting urgent, i cant understand it.

I have submitted support ticket this morning and only just got a respose with a ticket number that took all day to tell me what my number is what hope do i have

What do you mean by "inside my LAN". You mean from outside, through a VPN into your office LAN, right?

You can't use netbios names; they do not propagate through a VPN...well, actually that can depend, but for simplicity assume not :-). Use the PC's IP address.

I mean the internal network cannot see itself as in its fine by IP but not via netbios names

e.g i am on machine called VPC01 and my IP is 192.170.1.55 and i want to RDP to a server called HYPERV01 and its IP is 192.170.1.10. If i go via IP its fine but via netbios its not.

My domain does not seem to work right using this router either

I'm not sure what this has to do with the router then.

so why if i move the machines away from this network onto another can i connect to them, the Draytek manages the network so its odd that it works on a diffrent network to the draytek
