Just installed two 2820, one for head office and one for branch site. Head office is on 192.168.1. 100 range and branch on 192.168.2.100 range. Broadband connection is just fine. Both have static IP addresses.
Tried to set up VPN and it connects. However the data transfer rate is very slow: typically a 1.25MB file is taking 40 seconds. I’ve tried PPTP and IPSec, and no difference. I’m sure something fundamental has been overlooked. I spent three hours with a networking guru friend of mine one evening this week and we tried all sorts. No luck. What are we missing, please?
Thank you

I've just copied a 10MB file over my office vpn and it took about 4 minutes, so appoximately 24 seconds per MB. Our line has an upspeed of about 1.1mb, but there will have been some other useage at the time.
As Louis asks what is the upload speed of your line? If you're on a standard broadband line that gives less than half a mb then based on my tests you're vpn is doing pretty well.
