Hi,

I've had a firmware update fail on a Vigor 2820 going from 3.2.0 to 3.2.1. The router just flashes ACT, USB and CSM continuously. I've tried a reset using the button (press and hold) but nothing.

Is it time to chuck the router away?

You probably already have seem this but the instructions to reset say:

Restore the default settings. Usage: Turn on the router (ACT LED is
blinking). Press the hole and keep for more than 5 seconds. When you see
the ACT LED begins to blink rapidly than usual, release the button. Then the
router will restart with the factory default configuration.

Yes, this is what I've tried but it just doesn't work. I can't believe the router is now useless  :x

no it's not useless, just taking a little rest.

Have a hunt around here or the draytek faq's for instructions on flashing it using tftp. I faced a similar problem some months ago and this recused mine.

Looks like drewy could have hit the nail on the head.

Look for 'Abnormal Firmware Conditions' on the support page:

Can you still ping the router when it first powers on? if so you should be able to reflash the router using the utility try downloading the firmware again just to make sure it is not corrupt.

Ensure you turn your firewall off on your PC before running the utility.

This did work for me using the 2800!!
