Hi we have a 2820 installed and basically want two companies to use it.

Their is an option in the control panel to specify the routers lan subnet. Is the draytec quite happy to manage a 255.255.0.0 subnet?

I was thinking the following

Router 172.16.25.x / 255.255.0.0 with DHCP from 172.16.25.2 - 255

Company 1 ( Vlan 1 ) - 172.16.26.x / 255.255.0.0
Company 2 ( Vlan 2 ) - 172.16.27.x / 255.255.0.0

Is the draytec going to allow us to do this or is is going to complain and say it cant manage more than a /24 subnet?

just use the port based vlan on the 2820.

2820 = 3.3.2_RC5
2950 = 3.2.4

We will be :)

I want to if possible give each company its own block of addresses rather than saying you have 10-50, you have 51 - 100 etc.

Did you ever find out if you could do this (have the DrayTek sit on a 255.255.0.0 LAN)? I have a customer with a 2820 with a very similar requirement and would like to know if it is possible before modifying their router and then troubleshooting it if it doesn't work.

Many Thanks,
