Greetings All
Just a question about the following message - does anyone know what it's caused by and how to resolve it?
"Message PPPoE : [No response from server side]"
Thanks in advance.

afaik it means that your system is not connecting to your ISP - possible causes include they have a fault, there's a fault on the line or you have the wrong credentials set up.

It can also be the VLAN tag setting if you're on the Openreach network and don't have VLAN tag 101 set. Or if you're not on the Openreach network, the VLAN tag may need to be changed for the network you're on.
Then it could be the Service Name field, but afaik that doesn't break PPP authentication like it used to.

Thanks both for your replies. I had thought those might be the reasons, but one of the FAQs on the Australian site actually mentions firmware as the cause. However, my router is on the latest firmware, and I had that message when I was on previous firmware, too. Comments welcome.

Which router do you have and did the error message coincide with a firmware upgrade?
Make sure you're using the BT firmware, that's tested on lines in the UK before the firmware gets released.

It's a 2762. No, the error didn't coincide with firmware upgrade.
More importantly, no line is the same. BT firmware causes my line to drop, Draytek support advised to use Mdm3 firmware.
