Vigor 130 slow download/upload on BT was created by purkiss_01
Hi, Hoping for some help.
I have done a search and although some similar topics, doesn't look like a solution was found.
In January I was getting frequent wifi drop outs on my HH6. I assumed this was because we now have so many devices connected.
I was geting D45 U11
I initially purchased an Asus RT - AC88U router and turned the Wifi and DCHP settings off on the HH6 as it cant be run in a bridge mode. This resulted in D38 U9
With a bit of extra reading I purchased the Vigor 130 to use as a modem so I could get rid of the HH6.
The Vigor is running 3.8.4.1_BT and the only setting I changed was to switch to PPPoe.
I am now only getting D32 U7. on the Physical connection page when I log into the web interface it is showing as 35D U7 to the modem.
I have had the modem and router connected for 7 days but saw no improvement to speeds.
This morning I Plugged in the old HH6 and my speeds are showing a D40 U9.
Is it an issue with my settings or compatibility to the openreach cabinet-? have I upset the line and caused speeds to be lowered ?- or do I just need to persist for longer than a week.
If it was a line issue then why would the HH6 immediately have faster speeds than that shown web interface for the Vigor?

You shouldn't have had to change anything on the Vigor130 it is automatic , the PPOE settings are made in the router.
What we need is to see your modem stats.
Vigor 130 GUI > Web Console ( middle icon top right of pane)
Type vdsl status > hit enter
then vdsl status more > enter

Thanks for the instruction:
So I have just unplugged the HH6 (as the Mrs needed internet for work).
A quick speed test before this was 39.6d 8.11u on my iPhone.
Speed test once Vigor plugged back in 33.8d 7.04u

Okay, that tells a story.
You have downstream interleaving reducing throughput and that will stay until the DSLAM sees a period of stable connection.
You are connected to an ECI/Infineon cabinet so it may be better to try the alternative firmware which is available as it usually works beter on ECI cabinets.
https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/downloads/vigor-130
Once that is flashed it is important to leave the modem alone for as long as possible, lots of reboots/disconnects will cause more interleaving.
Speed tests really need to be from a wired device to be useful. Try nPerf >>
