2866 v4.4.2 Release Note UK vs. Worldwide was created by ianfretwell
I find it a bit odd that the UK release notes for the v4.4.2 firmware have completely omitted the known issues that the worldwide (i.e. FTP site) release notes show - almost like they're hiding the fact?
These:-
A firewall can restrict/drop unwanted inbound WAN traffic such as VPN requests. The
router's firewall block rules can stop remote management and VPN access. It is
recommended to review the firewall settings before upgrading.
QoS does not work on G.fast line when the link rate exceeds 600 Mbps.
For "ax" series model:
The wireless clients might encounter unexpected trouble (e.g., unable to use the printer on
LAN) while accessing into Internet if the hardware acceleration is enabled.
To skip hardware acceleration for certain devices, the following telnet command can be
used:
ppa -E -e 1
ppa -E -a AA:BB:CC:XX:XX:XX nat|bridge|ipsec
Vigor2866 may have synchronization or performance issues when connecting to the DSL
line with a lower SNR value (<6).
The last one in particular might be of interest to those people who've noticed that they can't sync as fast after upgrading to a 2866 model...

I have tried twice this morning to upgrade to 4.4.2 from 4.4.1.1 from the UK site. Both times it says the firmware upgrade is successful. But after the router has restarted I am stuck on 4.4.1.1.
Has anyone successfully upgraded? Anyone experienced the same issue and managed to work around it?
I am using Firefox 111.0 and a Vigor2866ax.

I've not tried yet - will be having a go after 5pm (can't afford to be having issues until then!)
I'm also on 4.4.1.1 - so it'll be the same test.

I have just spoken to support... They got me to try several more times from both UK and Global site all with the same issue, stuck on 4.4.1.1.
Support then went away and tested on their side and confirmed the same behaviour on their device. They advised to downgrade the firmware to 4.4.1 and then upgrade to 4.4.2 which I have now done successfully.
So it seems that the 4.4.1.1 firmware is the culprit.
Hopefully, this will help anyone else coming across the same issue.

Upgraded my 2866 and all seems to be OK...
Bit worried about your point re the <4db SNR performance, but I guess time will tell. Mine syncs at 3db to 4db and about 50mb/s...
Let's see how it goes!
