I am looking to see how I can point a device on my network to a specific WAN port and I have idea how to do it? I have a VDSL connection and a fibre connection and want to point some specific devices to use one of the internet connections. Currently my router is set up to load balance between the two connections but I need some devices to use the VDSL connection specifically. Has anyone got any pointers as to how I do this?

I've been trying that without success - probably more down to my understanding of managing networks rather than the capability of the router....

In Route Policy set the destination as the IP of the device (IP Range - Start and Finish the same) you want to connect via, say WAN2, and the Interface as WAN2.

You may need to set a higher priority to override a default connection.

Doesn't that work?

In a bit more detail:

I have Sky Q at home with 3 mini boxes. I am having problems downloading catch up programs, the box says I do not have a subscription. From talking to sky this is because one of my service providers share ip addresses for their customers and they use NAT to manage within their servers - this means that Sky's servers can sometimes see multiple connections using the same ip address and therefore they reject the request. They believe that my other service provider would not have the same issue. I am just not sure how to setup the routing so that all requests that need to go to the internet are routed to WAN1 rather than WAN2. I set a routing that points all traffic from the sky q box to go to WAN1 but now none of my Sky Q mini boxes cannot see the main Sky Q box.

I will try again - I wasn't sure whether to set the source or the destination piece.... DOH !!
