Vigor 2762ac Firewall Performance was created by xer0w
Hi,
I've recently upgraded my broadband to fibre, and am trying to determine if I need to upgrade my 2762ac.
From the specs I can see:
WAN2 : Gigabit Ethernet (1000Mb/s) Ethernet (This is the port I'm using for the Internet connection)
Firewall: Up to 300Mb/s max
So the WAN2 port is fine (1000Mbps), but the FW seems to be a limiting factor, does this mean that in reality the WAN2 port is limited to 300Mbps (with the FW enabled)?
Thanks.

Hi, sorry I should have said. My new package gives:
Average download speeds of 516Mbps
Average upload speeds of 36Mbps
Speedtest's show 280-290Mbps dl, max Upload 35Mbps. I've tried at different times of the day and this is the best I can get.

Well, first of all what fibre package have you got ie, speeds down/up?
And have you checked with a decent speed tester?

Okay, before you do anything else what about cables? You need at least Cat5E and preferrably Cat6 .

I just asked a friend, he has a 4 year old ASUS RT-AC5300 and full gigabit fibre. He found his speeds were 50% down via the router vs. the ONT.
Turning off QOS fixed his issue, he is getting @ 900Mbps download.
