Random Wi-Fi / Rebooting issues - 2862ac was created by rmistry22
Hi all,

Everything been working fine for me, but recently been getting random reboots / Wireless issues. I did upgrade last week from 3.9.1.2 and introduced AP903.

I setup logging and got this email. Is this something I need to worry about?

Hi there,

Happens to me here all the time as well...

Using Firmware 3.9.2_BT, a 802AP and a 903AP in Mesh mode (2862 is the Mesh Root), random reboots every week. Sometimes the setup can go for over a 100 hours or so and then it can happen in less than a day.

DrayTek offered to do a RMA on the 2862 router but I doubt that the hardware is at fault here, more like the firmware running on the device I suspect.

Not great is it for an expensive piece of kit!

Same here - random wifi issues :-(
Only had it for a week and initially thought it was my fault...appears not :-(
If it continues to happen it'll be going back.

Current Firmware Version: 3.9.2_BT

If you check my post history, I have the same issue, even had a swapped unit...

Yeah it’s a faulty product to which Draytek won’t acknowledge.

Hi all,

This is still happening and the key seems to be high load, if two of us are watching a HQ (1080) for approx 35 mins along with several other devices connected the router reboots.

I have looked at @madexmat previous posts but no confirmed conclusion as to why this is happening has been posted.

I’m currently running 3.9.3 which still has the problem but the router seems more responsive in use.

DrayTek have offered to RMA the router, but under my Vigorcare plan, but they must be able to replicate the fault or will charge for the replacement router. I’ve asked for confirmation that in their opinion this is a hardware fault and I will not be charged but no reply since last Thursday.

I also note firmware 3.9.4 is out on the .com site, however it does not state anything about fixing random reboot / Wi-Fi issues?

Very embarrassing yesterday when the router rebooted in the middle of a video conference! Only me using it for video, others just email etc. So not even under high load.

Contacted Draytek support, whilst they have been helpful, they are unwilling to acknowledge a hardware fault and will not confirm that if I RMA the router, they will not charge me! Not sure what the point of Vigorcare is anymore!

They provided me with a newer firmware to test as "it addresses the rebooting issue"

This firmware seems worse, two reboots within 1 hour of each other whilst watching Netflix! Nothing overnight, but none of us have been using the internet.

Here is the debug log from the router
