Unknown DNS query type was created by nesswill
Sorry probably a silly question, but does anyone know what this means and why I might be seeing it in my logs?
Thank you very much.

Your router is intercepting DNS requests and it doesn't understand the type of request that it intercepted.
Back in Jan 2014 I had them fix issues with SOA and TXT records, as well as EDNS0 being broken. Sadly, the router /always/ intercepts DNS requests and processes them in some way. So many DNS issues with the Vigor could be fixed if they would just allow DNS interception to be turned off.
If you want to see those warnings fixed, you're going to have to dig around and find which specific query types are broken.

Hello, thank you for the info, I thought as much. I have tracked it down to an IP Camera, so that's sorted now.
Thank you again.

It always intercepts but I'm not sure it always processes. Interception is necessary for content filtering to work.

I've just noticed this same thing appearing in my logs whilst I was trying to solve another issue. I'd like to troubleshoot it properly but have no idea where the DNS query is coming from or even what type it is as all that the log says is
[Pass][Unknown DNS query type][Hostname=]
How can I get any more info so that I can work out what on the network is causing it?
