2860 VDSL disconnection despair was created by tobythetenor
Hi all,
am on an 80/20 VDSL2 connection with the far end reporting as IFTN (=ECI) equipment.
With the 3.7.8.1 STD firmware, the DLM goes into interleaving mode (with 1165 interleaving depth), which means pinging bbc.co.uk I get somewhere around 40-50ms latency. Also both my upload and download sync speeds are lower than with VECTOR.
With both 3.7.8.1 VECTOR firmwares, the DLM does not interleave (fast mode with depth reporting as 1), and my ping to the same bbc.co.uk drops to 8ms. However, I get disconnected every 15-30 minutes.
I've already tried switching G.Vector off (vdsl optn g.vector off), which only results in a change to attainable speed (suggesting that the far end is Vector-enabled).
I was really hoping Draytek would work on those connection drops, but I have seen no change from 3.7.8.0.
Does anyone else experience this misery?

Hi,
Long time lurker, just had to edit this as I noticed I registered here way back in 2003 I guess that's when I got my first!
Yes I have had similar issues to you that started back in early March.
I was getting loads of disconnections all day on a previously rock solid 80/20
I thought I had a line problem and had 2 engineers out doing all sorts of tests and diagnostics.
I even asked the BT engineer if there had been any firmware upgrades on the dslams, but he was unsure.
I ended up just connecting the old Huawei HG612 into the WAN2 port and reconfigured.
I've not had time to look into it much further, I keep checking for new firmware every week just to see if they have it sorted yet.
Fingers crossed it wont take too long.

Take a look at this thread
http://www.forum.draytek.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=20105&p=83112#p83112
perhaps modem code AnnexA_572d07_570e01 of the vector 2 firmware is the one for you

Thanks babis3g but where can I get that firmware from? On the standard download page http://www.draytek.co.uk/support/downloads
I'm only seeing 3.7.8 which is what I currently have installed and in my WAN settings my modem codes are different.
A link to 3.7.8.1 would be appreciated.
Thanks.
