Vigor 120 v2 PPPoE issue? was created by badgernaut
Hi,
I was having problems getting a PPPoE link from my pfSense box using the previous v3.2.6, but last night flashed with the recent firmware update v3.2.6.1. It worked! For one hour... Then the WAN link went down and it won't reconnect anymore
Has anyone had any luck with the 120 v2 and pfSense, and has any tips on this setup?
Thanks in advance.

when updated firmware, did you use the *rst* file for a clean install or just the *all*
If you did not use the *rst* , master reset the unit and try the *rst* file

I definitely did use the RST file to reset to factory defaults... didn't want to take any chances!
Still didn't work

Yep had the same, when used with a 2920, I'm sure it's firmware related as connect with a netgear 834 that's 6 years old or a bt homehub and no disconnects. I'm now using 2860, but have ahd quite a few disconnects. But at much larger intervals.
Looking at the lack of direct support by Draytek and the number of posts on this support forum that go unanswered I'm going to get rid and get something that is easy to setup, makes sense and is supported properly.

When did you contact them; they do respond!
It's a user forum, not a support forum.... Why are you blaming the users ? Lots of users are really helpful here!
Seriously...you found the Vigor120 difficult to setup? Unbox it, plug it in..done!

Draytek support did respond, however I managed to get it working myself, after a few hours of tinkering
A combination of the latest firmware, setting the device to spoof the MAC address of my previous modem-router, and not touching any of the other settings (the Draytek user manual leaves something to be desired, even for a device as simple as this one): it now connects at least as well as the previous modem.
Thanks to everyone here for trying to help
