My outgoing 2800 series was able to perform hairpin NAT, whereby a web server on the LAN could be browsed via WAN IP (through port forwarding). I've just replaced this router with a 2820 and hairpin NAT no longer seems to work. I mostly get timeouts with the occasional successful connection. (Why it works at all if hairpin NAT isn't supported is beyond me.)

The 3.2 manual is silent on the subject. Does anyone know a way to get this working again (without setting up a local DNS server)? If there's no other solution I'll go down the DNS route. It just bugs me that this wasn't an issue on earlier iterations of this router, so I didn't need to think about it. :D

I previously posted about this here before I'd learnt about hairpin NAT.

I had this issue on any newer firmware higher than 3.3.3 , i haven't tested 3.3.5.2 as i know have the 2830Vn

I hope the 3.3.5.2 solved this issue

Just about to try the released 3.3.5.2 (232201); I'll try and remember to report back.
