My 2820vn started ringing the phone at random intervals every few minutes, I have replaced it with a different 2820vn/psu combination and it still happens. When the phone is connected directly to the splitter there is no spurious ringing. Something is upsetting the unit - perhaps line noise - and making it exhibit this infuriating behaviour. Otherwise it works OK. I tried disabling incoming pstn rings on phone 1 using telnet "voip dsp pstringsfxs 1 off", but that disabled outgoing calls via pstn on phone 1 also. Is there a way of making it wait for a few pstn ring cycles before forwarding the call to phone 1 or 2 so that line noise doesnt cause problems?. Or a way of disabling ringing on pstn calls but not outgoing pstn calls?
