Leaseline Setup was created by tonyspeller24
Hi so im sure someone has (maybe) asked this before.
my company recently put in a leaseline order (wires only). usually we connect a router to whatever firewall the providers install and configure the ipaddress of the wan but this one is different.
we have a dreytek 2962 plugged directly into the ADVA box via single mode fibre as requested.
i configure the lease wan ip subnet and gateway as given to me by the provider but they have then given me a 'Lan side IP' which they have said ;
"you will need to ensure the following IPs are set in your Primary WAN interface.
CPE: 212.xxx.xxx.42
AR: 212.xxx.xxx.43
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.254
you will need to either, use your only usable IP address of 195.xxx.xxx.25 in your next device, or if you require more IPs, you will need to NAT 195.xxx.xxx.24/30 into a DHCP range, defined in the draytek.
LAN Range : 195.xxx.xxx.24/30
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.252
useable IP: 195.xxx.xxx.25
DNS IPs: 195.xxx.xxx.70 + 195.xxx.xxx.10 "
My question is how/can i set this up in a 2962 without connecting another device to it as a router? originally they suggested adding the lan address as a wan ip alias but your only able to add and ipaddress, unless i can add it as 195.xxx.xxx.24/30
