Password Requirements for DrayTek Devices

Draytek routers use password for a variety of applications and there is some variation to be aware of between applications and models. Unless otherwise stated, the following characters are allowed:

Vigor 3910/Vigor 2962

WAN

PPPoE/PPP password: The maximum length of the password you can set is 62 characters.

Admin Password

Passwords can be up to 83 characters in length, but we suggest keeping them less than 32 characters.

Password can contain only a-z A-Z 0-9 , ; : . " < > * + = - \ | ? @ # ^ ! ( )

Administrator Local User

Password can be up to 15 characters in length.

SMS Service Object / Mail Service Object

The maximum length of the password you can set is 128 characters. 

VPN

PPTP /L2TP/ SSL VPN/ OpenVPN/IPsec EAP:  Maximum 128 characters

PPP General Setup:  Maximum 128 Characters

IPSEC General pre-shared key: Maximum 128 characters

IPSEC XAuth pre-shared key: Maximum 64 characters

TR069

Password can be up to 31 characters in length.

SNMP Setup

Maximum length 23 Characters
