XV. VigorACS and VigorConnect

This guide demonstrates how to install add a Google Maps API Key to VigorACS. The Google Maps Platform provides an API so that applications such as VigorACS 2 are able to display google maps. For more information regarding Google's platform, please see https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/

The Google Maps Platform is not associated with DrayTek

To use Google maps you will need to have a Google Cloud account and billing setup.

Add Google Maps Key

1. Log into your google account via https://console.cloud.google.com

2. Create a Project

3. Go to API & Services

4. Select Credentials and choose Create credentials to create the API Key

5. Copy the key

6. Add the key to [System] > [Google Maps Key] without any preceding text. You do not need to add key=API_key, just paste the whole key

7. Restart the VigorACS Service and now when you check a devices location the Map should appear. If it doesn't then the first thing to check to to make sure the API Key has been input correctly. There should not be any leading spaces or additional text such as 'key='
